Tofu

Tofu is a versatile source of plant-based protein. It can act as the base of a dish or take a supporting role as a hearty add on. While some may criticize tofu for its blandness, its neutral taste lets it take on the flavor of zesty sauces and seasonings. Tofu can be substituted for meat to create a veg-friendly version of just about any dish. At breakfast, it can be sautéed with vegetables into a tasty breakfast scramble. Tofu pairs well with Asian soups, coconut curries and simple stir-fries. Replace the meat in tacos or burritos with tofu seasoned with spices like chili powder and cumin for a plant-based take on favorite Mexican dishes. For a simple and balanced lunch or dinner, toss tofu in your favorite sauce and serve with a side of vegetables and grains or potatoes. Experiment to find with which dishes and flavor combinations you most enjoy tofu.
